To study angiogenesis and inflammatory mediators in peritoneal fibrosis, we used microarray analysis and compared gene expression profiles of the peritoneum in control and chlorhexidine gluconate (CG)-induced peritoneal fibrosis mice. Peritoneum was obtained after intraperitoneal injection of 0.01 mL/gBW of 0.1% CG in 15% ethanol and 85% PBS 3 times per week for 21 days. Control mice received intraperitoneal injection of ethanol/PBS. WT; wild-type mice, SAP-BNP-Tg; serum amyloid P promoter-driven brain natriuretic peptide transgenic mice (J Clin Invest. 93, 1911-1921, 1994).
