Active Tectonic Model in the central Apennines

Carafa This repository contains three complementary databases that support the construction of the active tectonic model in the central Apennines.It serves as data supplement to the publication “The impact of long-term seismic coupling on fault-based seismic hazard models: insights from the central Apennines (Italy)” by Di Naccio, D., Di Lorenzo, C., Falcone, G., Kastelic, V., Sparacino, F., Del Sole, L., and Carafa, M.M.C., where the model is presented and discussed in detail. The folder structure should be preserved after downloading. Specifically, the repository includes:- PNDD_PointNeotectonicDeformationDatabase: point-based database in Excel format containing geological neotectonic data at specific sites;- SFTD_SurfaceFaultTraceDatabase: linear GIS-database in shapefile format containing surface fault traces with observed evidence of Late Quaternary activity;- FSD_FaultSourceDatabase: 2D-surface modelled database in shapefile format containing simplified fault modeling for seismic hazard assessment;- activeTectonicModel_CA_2025.pdf: documentation describing the structure, content, and compilation criteria of each database.
