Notional workload of free-market and sectoral qualifications IQS Poland and micro-credentials

This dataset contains the declared notional workload of two types of credentials in Poland, used in the article "Notional workload as commensuration: sizing non-formal vocational qualifications and micro-credentials for adult learners in Poland". 1. Free-market and sectoral qualifications (n = 318). All free-market (268) and sectoral (50) qualifications included in the Integrated Qualifications System (IQS/ZSK), published in the Integrated Qualifications Register (IQR/ZRK) between July 2017 and September 2026. The records were retrieved from the public IQR API (https://api.kwalifikacje.gov.pl) on 1 October 2026. Variables: IQR identifier, qualification name (Polish), category, register status, type, Polish Qualifications Framework (PQF/PRK) level, estimated workload in hours (orientacyjny nakład pracy), and a link to each qualification's API record. 2. Micro-credentials (n = 238). An anonymised list of micro-credential descriptions from the largest Polish pilot project developing standards and tools for a micro-credential ecosystem, as of June 2026. Variables: issuer type (higher education institution, training company, NGO, enterprise, other), declared notional workload in hours, and number of learning outcomes. The data can be used to study how the size of learning is declared in qualification registers and micro-credential standards, including dispersion within qualification levels and rounding to conventional values.
