Post-transcriptional regulation of climate adaptation in Santalum album L. (Indian Sandalwood)

Santalum album L. (Indian Sandalwood) a valuable tree species known for its essential oil, is facing increasing threats due to climate change resulting in habitat loss, decline in genetic diversity and rising incidents of spike disease. Further, excessive exploitation has resulted in loss of adaptive gene pool. The present study investigates the molecular mechanisms behind climate adaptation in S. album through integrated analysis of leaf transcriptome and small RNA sequence datasets.
