Transcriptome analysis of hepatic stellate cells in cirrhotic patients

Activation, proliferation and transformation of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) play the pivotal role in the process of hepatic fibrosis, however, human liver-derived HSCs are not readily available. In this study, we attempted to identify the potential genes related to hepatic fibrosis by RNA sequencing data of human primary HSCs based on next-generation sequencing technology, which might provide novel strategies for management of liver fibrosis.
