Participation rate of children in sports teams and clubs in Japan 2023, by gender

A survey conducted in 2023 in Japan revealed that about 52.7 percent of girls and 65.9 percent of boys aged between 4 and 11 years participated in sports teams and clubs. Besides sports clubs, schools often also offer clubs for cultural activities, such as playing music instruments.
