Cary Environmental Monitoring Program Snow Depth Event Data

This dataset is a contribution to the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies Environmental Monitoring Program. This program is a long-term data collection program designed to understand how the environment changes over time. Originally, the program included variables related to air pollution, such as acid deposition and ozone, water pollution and other streamwater chemistry and solar radiation, including diffuse and global photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), diffuse and global shortwave radiation, net radiation and ultraviolet radiation. In 2025 the pollution and solar radiation measurements ended. The program currently includes the co-located US Climate Reference Network (CRN) station, NY DEC ozone monitoring, the Cary Institute stream gauge and meteorological data not collected at the CRN station. Data provided in this dataset include summaries of snow depth events starting in the winter of 1992-1993. Note that daily snow depth measurements can be found in the Cary meteorological daily data.
