What Does a Mocked Code Component Tell Us About its Maintainability?

The dataset covers 50 open-source Java repositories, capturing repository metadata (stars, contributors, commit snapshot) and method-level mocking activity. Scale: 87,014 methods total. Mocked methods: 2,845 (3.27%). Impacted methods: 10,565 (12.14%). Remaining methods are unmocked. Methods are classified as: Mocked – behavior replaced via constructs like when(...).thenReturn(...). Impacted – contain mocking API calls but not directly stubbed. Unmocked – no mocking interaction. Mocking constructs were identified from the Mockito framework (e.g., mock, spy, when, given, mockStatic).
