In 2016, based on retail sales, organic vegetables had a market share of 23 percent in Norway. In the same year, the market share of organic dairy products amounted to 15 percent, followed by organic children’s food with 12 percent. Organic vegetables had the highest market share - among the root vegetables, organic carrots made a share of 80 percent, while it was only six percent for beetroots and four percent for ginger. Organic dairy products Among organic dairy products sold in Norway in 2017, sweet milk had the highest share, reaching 40 percent. Soured milk came second with a market share of 29 percent, followed by organic cheese with 15 percent and sour cream with four percent. Organic fruits Of all organic fruits sold in the country, soft fruit had the highest share with 41 percent in 2016. That year, it was ahead of organic pome fruit’s market share, which was 20 percent. In third position came organic citrus fruits, having a market share of 16 percent measured by retail sales.
