资源简介:
Purpose: The dataset was generated to evaluate whether inland populations of Salicornia europaea from contrasting saline environments differ in shoot and root morphometric responses to salt stress. It supports the analysis of population-specific trait variation across controlled salinity treatments and the relationship between these traits and the soil properties of the sites where seeds were originally collected.Nature of the Dataset: The dataset comprises morphometric measurements of shoots and roots obtained through digital image analysis of plants grown under four NaCl treatments (0, 200, 400, and 1000 mM). It also includes soil physicochemical data corresponding to four inland source sites—two located in Poland (Ciechocinek and Inowrocław) and two located in Germany (Salzgraben and Soltauquelle). The data comprise raw and processed trait values, salinity treatment information, and site-level soil parameters used to compare growth responses among populations.Scope: The dataset covers four inland S. europaea populations cultivated under controlled salinity conditions and analysed for differences in canopy area, shoot morphology, root elongation patterns, and overall growth performance. It also encompasses soil salinity, pH, ionic composition, and related properties of the original habitats. The dataset enables examination of population-level trait variation, salt-response patterns, and associations between plant growth and soil characteristics across two Polish and two German inland saline sites.
