To understand miRNA-mediated post-transcriptional gene regulation in garden pea (Pisum sativum), next-generation sequencing of P. sativum young leaves are performed. After bioinformatics analysis, 255 conserved and 11 novel miRNAs were identified in the garden pea leaf sample. Further, the target genes of conserved and novel miRNA were predicted.
