The IdB-D Model: An Integrated Framework for Competence-Based and Equitable Assessment
收藏资源简介:
The IdB-D Model is a theoretically informed and practice-oriented framework designed to enhance the coherence, fairness and transparency of assessment in linguistically and academically diverse learning environments. It integrates three domains that are typically addressed separately in educational research—competence-based task design, adaptive differentiation and regulatory compliance—into a unified architecture that supports both instructional quality and institutional reliability. By structuring assessments along established levels of cognitive demand, the model provides a stable scaffold for constructing tasks that are pedagogically meaningful and evaluatively robust. Differentiation is embedded within the task architecture itself, enabling learners with varying linguistic and cognitive profiles to engage with a shared assessment framework while preserving the comparability of outcomes. At the same time, the model delineates access-related accommodations from evaluative criteria, ensuring alignment with principles of equitable assessment and maintaining the integrity of competence measurement. The IdB-D Model is deliberately pragmatic in its design. It reduces the complexity often associated with differentiated assessment, supports consistent departmental standards and strengthens the transparency of communication with students and families. As such, it contributes to the professionalisation of assessment culture and provides an academically rigorous yet operationally feasible approach for contemporary educational institutions.
