COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF STYLISTIC TERMS IN UZBEK AND ENGLISH DICTIONARIES
收藏资源简介:
The comparative analysis of stylistic terms in Uzbek and English dictionaries represents one of the significant directions of modern linguistics and lexicography because stylistic terminology reflects the cultural, linguistic, and communicative peculiarities of every language system. The development of stylistics as an independent branch of linguistics has contributed to the emergence of specialized dictionaries and terminological systems that explain expressive means, stylistic devices, functional styles, figurative language, and communicative nuances. Uzbek and English linguistic traditions demonstrate both universal and nationally specific approaches to stylistic classification and lexicographic interpretation. The present scientific article examines the semantic, structural, functional, and lexicographic characteristics of stylistic terms represented in Uzbek and English dictionaries through comparative linguistic analysis. The research is based on Uzbek scientific and educational literature related to stylistics, lexicography, comparative linguistics, and terminology studies. The article analyzes the formation of stylistic terminology, dictionary definitions, semantic equivalence, translation difficulties, functional classifications, and cultural specificity in Uzbek and English lexicographic traditions. Special attention is paid to the role of explanatory dictionaries, bilingual dictionaries, terminological dictionaries, and linguistic databases in the codification of stylistic terminology. The research demonstrates that stylistic terms in English dictionaries are often characterized by greater standardization and internationalization, whereas Uzbek stylistic terminology reflects national linguistic traditions, literary heritage, and cultural identity. The article also discusses the influence of globalization, digital lexicography, and intercultural communication on the modernization of stylistic terminology. The comparative approach reveals both similarities and differences in the interpretation of stylistic concepts such as metaphor, irony, alliteration, hyperbole, euphemism, and functional styles. The findings contribute to the development of comparative lexicography, stylistics, translation studies, and linguistic education in Uzbekistan.
