资源简介:
Background: Hip dysplasia includes a wide spectrum of alterations where the acetabulum and proximal femur are not in their normal anatomical position. This manuscript aims to characterize patients with a diagnosis of developmental dysplasia of the hips treated at a hospital in Boyacá. Methodology: Observational, descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional study. Pediatric patients with CDD (Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip) treated between 2015 and 2016 were included. Results: A higher proportion was found in the female sex with 66.88% (103 patients), with birth between 37 and 40 weeks of gestation determined by date of last maternal menstruation, an estimated weight of 2500 to 4000 grams in 71.43%, 75.32% were first-time mothers, 85.71% presented breech presentation. It was identified that 1.3% (2 patients) had a diagnosis of Down syndrome, 3.3% (5 patients) with congenital torticollis, and 2% of metatarsus adductus (3 patients), genu recurvatum was found in 3.1% of patients. cases (6 patients). Conclusion: We can conclude in this way that there are multiple factors that are associated with the presence or not of this pathology, starting with a genetic background, going through a history related to pregnancy and finally, it is important to take into account that this pathology may be the indicative of other orthopedic diseases or genetic alterations.
