资源简介:
Over production of green-house gasses such as CO2 and lack of ‘green’ fuels can be targeted both in once – having materials allowing CO2 capture and its conversion to environmentally friendly fuels. Layered silicates showed up to be very promising, offering larger CO2 uptake than zeolites. We found out that Ni-cation exchanged synthetic and natural clay reaches 6.4 mmol/g of CO2. CO2 is naturally released in range of minutes/hours at ambient pressure. MXenes stand out as one of the most promising catalysts for CO2 conversion to ‘green’ value-added chemicals such as ethanol, with uptake of CO2 theoretically competing with MOFs. Only experimental report shows adsorption capacity of 5.79 mmol/g and slow CO2 release in a range of months. For current experiment, we cation-exchanged MXenes by Ni. Then, we combine clay and MXenes to form Ni-clay-MXene heterostructures, to enhance CO2 absorption capacity and storage of CO2 in these materials for production of ‘green fuels’.
