VPRS 18139 Index to Discharge Register of Patients

This series consists of the Index to the first Discharge Register of Patients (1867 - 1882) maintained by the Ararat Asylum (VA 2841). For all subsequent Discharge Registers, the index was incorporated into the beginning of the volumes.This index is used to locate a particular patient's entry within the Discharge Register of Patients (VPRS 17790).The index used 26 separate tabs (A - Z). Under each tab, patient names are listed (surname first), with the corresponding page number in the Discharge Register where an entry for that patient can be found.
