资源简介:
These data pertain to the main findings in the manuscript “Mechanistic determinants of effector-independent motor memory encoding” by Kumar et al. (2020).
1. Generalization across effectors, the behavioral manifestation of an effector-independent motor representation developed via (visuomotor) learning, is asymmetric. It occurs only from the left arm to the right, but not vice-versa.
2. This left-to-right generalization is best predicted by the level of an implicit mechanism that evolves gradually during learning.
3. Disrupting left but not right hemisphere posterior parietal cortex (PPC) impedes learning mediated by this mechanism, thus potentially blocking the encoding of the effector-independent representation.
4. Generalization across effectors is therefore blocked if the left PPC is disrupted after learning has occurred.
