The proposal is about the polyvinylidene fluoride-trifluoroethylene (P(VDF-TrFE)), which is a polymer widely used in flexible energy:
harvesting, sensors, and actuators. The ferroelectric and piezoelectric P(VDF-TrFE) properties are favored through annealing and poling, i.e.
the first electric field application. The poling process is a key point for converting the material from paraelectric to ferroelectric. The structure
of P(VDF-TrFE) involves crystalline and ordered amorphous (OA) domains, which are determinant for its piezoelectric behavior. The proposed
experiment aims to study the structure of these domains. The study will use operando Wide Angle X-ray Scattering (WAXS) and Small Angle
X-ray Scattering (SAXS) to analyze the crystalline and amorphous domains as a function of applied electric field. The results aim to provide
significant insights into improving piezoelectric devices.
