This entry contains data from a heat transfer analysis in a continuous fixed bed reactor for the dehydrogenation of perhydro benzyltoluene and perhydro dibenzyltoluene. The background to it are heat transfer experiments in a fixed-bed tubular reactor with vertical orientation, that were carried out in presence of the chemical reaction.  Operating conditions for perhydro benzyltoluene (H12-BT): reaction pressure 3 bar(a); heating temperature 290 - 320 °C, feed flow rate 5 - 25 mL/min.Operating conditions for perhydro dibenzyltoluene (H18-DBT): Reaction pressure 3 bar(a); heating temperature 290 - 320 °C, feed flow rate 5 - 25 mL/min.Feed flow rates of 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 mL/min correspond to hourly liquid space velocities (LHSV) of 0.6, 1.3, 1.9, 2.5 and 3.2 1/h. In addition to the local temperature and conversion profiles, the data sets provided contain local heat transfer coefficients as a function of the axial reactor coordinate (T_heat = 320 °C). Global heat transport data includes global heat transfer coefficients, total heat consumption, as well as hydrodynamic characteristics like the fraction of evaporated LOHC and volume ratio of gas to liquid flow.
