Relationship between the weather conditions and the physicochemical characteristics of cladodes and mucilage of two cactus pear species

This data was used to examine the effect of weather conditions on the physicochemical characteristics
of cactus pear mucilage extracted from mature cladodes harvested over six
months.
We aimed to explain the correlation between the
environmental temperatures and rainfall with the yield and viscosity of
mucilage. In particular, the relationships between temperature, rainfall,
cladode size, cladode moisture content, mucilage acid content and mucilage
conductivity, and mucilage viscosity.
We had four research questions

1. Does the
size of cladodes influence the mucilage?

2. Does
rainfall before harvest influence mucilage?

3. Do
electrolytes influence mucilage?

4. Does the
environmental temperature before harvest influence mucilage?
