Superior Predictive Value of Peripapillary and Macular Microvascular Density over Structural OCT Parameters for Predicting Visual Field Progression in Glaucoma: A Longitudinal OCT Angiography Study with an Age-Matched Control Cohort

This dataset accompanies the prospective longitudinal study titled "Superior Predictive Value of Peripapillary and Macular Microvascular Density over Structural OCT Parameters for Predicting Visual Field Progression in Glaucoma: A Longitudinal OCT Angiography Study with an Age-Matched Control Cohort". The dataset includes:1. Longitudinal data from 333 open-angle glaucoma eyes (110 normal-tension glaucoma, 223 open-angle glaucoma) followed quarterly for a mean of 4.1 ± 0.9 years.2. Baseline and 6-month data from 60 age-matched healthy controls. For each glaucoma visit, the following variables are provided: age, sex, diagnosis type (NTG/OAG), glaucoma stage (early/moderate/advanced), visual field mean deviation (VF_MD), pattern standard deviation (VF_PSD), peripapillary vessel density (pcVD), parafoveal and perifoveal macular vessel density (parafoveal_mVD, perifoveal_mVD), peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer thickness (pRNFLT), macular ganglion cell-inner plexiform layer thickness (mGCIPLT), intraocular pressure (IOP), best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), central corneal thickness (CCT), signal strength indices (OCTA_SSI, OCT_SSI), visual field progression status (VF_progressor), and time-to-progression. For healthy controls, identical OCT and OCTA parameters are provided at two time points (baseline and 6 months). All data are fully anonymized. A detailed data dictionary (data_dictionary.csv) and complete statistical analysis code in R (statistical_analysis_code.R) are included to ensure full reproducibility. The study was approved by the Van Training and Research Hospital Non-Interventional Clinical Research Ethics Committee (Approval No: GOKAEK/2023-08-11). All participants provided written informed consent.
