本数据为2010年中国第4次北极考察期间采集的10根柱状岩芯的XRF测试数据,岩芯包括: ARC4-B14, ARC4--BN03, ARC4--BN05, ARC4--BN10, ARC4-BN13, ARC4-M03, ARC4-M05, ARC4-M07, ARC4-S25, ARC4-SR08。每个元素有两列数据:area(测量值)和chisqr(误差),单位是counts/30seconds,XRF所测元素的值(area)不是绝对含量,元素绝对含量的获得计算需要进一步地球化学方法来矫正,然而XRF测试结果可以很直观反映沉积物中元素含量多少的变化。有些柱顶沉积物量少,XRF仪器探头无法降到足够的高度,因此这类情况顶部测不到的地方跳过。在每段的柱顶和柱底,以及当中由于沉积物不连续(如拉断,孔洞等)、突起(漂砾)等地方,由于XRF仪器探头和沉积物表面接触可能不太好,所测数据可能会有跃变甚至出现负值,遇到这种情况需要参照XRF测前照片进行相应取舍。

This dataset contains XRF test data for 10 sediment cores collected during the 4th Chinese National Arctic Research Expedition in 2010. The cores are ARC4-B14, ARC4--BN03, ARC4--BN05, ARC4--BN10, ARC4-BN13, ARC4-M03, ARC4-M05, ARC4-M07, ARC4-S25, and ARC4-SR08. For each measured element, two columns of data are provided: area (measured value) and chisqr (error), with the unit of counts/30seconds. The area values of elements measured by XRF are not absolute element concentrations. To obtain the absolute element concentrations, further correction via geochemical methods is required. Nevertheless, the XRF test results can intuitively reflect the changes in element concentrations in sediments. For some cores with insufficient sediment at the top, the XRF probe cannot be lowered to a sufficient height, so the unmeasurable top sections should be skipped. At the top and bottom of each core segment, as well as in sections where sediment is discontinuous (e.g., core breaks, voids) or has protrusions such as glacial erratics, poor contact between the XRF probe and the sediment surface may occur, resulting in abrupt changes or even negative values in the measured data. In such cases, appropriate data screening should be conducted with reference to pre-XRF-measurement photographs.
