Data for: Reiss et al. (2025), JGR: Oceans - Unveiling the complex structure of vertical mode-two Kelvin waves driving strong nearshore currents in large, deep Lake Geneva

Combining field observations, 3D numerical modeling, and particle tracking, we demonstrate that previously undetected V2 Kelvin waves are common in Lake Geneva (Switzerland/France) during summer. The data include measurements from moored Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCPs), vertical thermistor lines, and the corresponding 3D modeling and particle tracking results. The observations at the LéXPLORE platform, in this dataset and the associated publication referred to as eastern mooring (ME), were downloaded from the Datalakes platform at https://www.datalakes-eawag.ch/datadetail/599, https://www.datalakes-eawag.ch/datadetail/600, and https://www.datalakes-eawag.ch/datadetail/448 (MIT License; last accessed in June 2025).
