Volume of biodiesel fuel consumed in transport in Germany 1995-2018

Since 1995, annual volume of biodiesel consumed in the German transport sector presented a trend of growth, despite some oscillation. Between 1995 and 2018, figures increased by some 1.9 million tons of oil equivalent and peaked at 2.1 million tons of oil equivalent in 2010. However, biodiesel consumption dropped to 1,919 kilotons of oil equivalent in 2018. At that year, the European Union biodiesel consumption in the transport sector amounted to roughly 12.8 million tons of oil equivalent.
