Historical sea ice extent for the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the Scotian Shelf from 1817 to 1962

This database at http://www.icedata.ca contains ice information and
reconstructed ice charts for the Gulf of St. Lawrence and Scotian Shelf on the
eastern seaboard of Canada for the ice months November though June from the
early 1800s to 1962. It contains the transcribed texts from the original
contemporary ice reports from which the charts were drawn along with data
tables of the latitude and longitude of iceberg and sea ice sightings and the
estimated ice edge. The ice extent in square kilometers is given for each
month in which ice extends out of the Cabot Strait and onto the Scotian Shelf.
