Express Entry Invited Candidates Data Observatory: Program and Intended Province Trends
收藏资源简介:
Replaced, 3 November 2026. Use the newer version: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.23925769. In this version's student workbook, the Read Me link beside the all-versions DOI opens a replaced version. The data values did not change. The files of this version stay as published. Second correction notice, 3 November 2026. This version replaces version 2026-11-03-correction. What was wrong: that version left out the student workbook for MAK's reproducibility lab, which sat outside this record with older wording (no IRCC definition of the count, a link to a replaced version and a leftover note against redistribution). It said IRCC's data are preliminary but did not warn that recent 2026 figures may still rise. One workbook note (Overview C11) did not say that some cells show 5, and the citation files did not say that their DOI is the all-versions DOI. What changed: the student workbook was corrected and added as a new file, version 1.4. The notes in the data workbook (Overview C11 and A31, Methodology B22), the README and both citation files were corrected, and the manifest and publisher pack ZIP were rebuilt to match. What did not change: every data value. The cleaned CSV, the four figure CSVs and the four figure SVGs are byte-identical to the previous version. This remains a fixed snapshot through 31 July 2026. Earlier correction notice, 3 November 2026 (version 2026-11-03-correction). What was wrong: earlier versions described these figures as near-counts of invitations (for example "not an exact unrounded ITA count") and did not carry IRCC's definition of what is counted. The workbook and one figure also called some sums "lower bounds", which is not guaranteed because published cells are rounded. What changed: labels, notes, the README and the F01 figure description were corrected, and the Open Government Licence attribution was added. What did not change: every data value. What these figures count. IRCC's Excel version of this table defines the count as "Express Entry candidates invited to apply and who subsequently applied for permanent residence." These figures are therefore not a count of invitations issued. For example, IRCC's 2023 year-end report states 110,266 invitations for 2023, while this table's IRCC total for 2023 is 85,760 (IRCC Excel, data as of August 31, 2026). For invitations issued, use IRCC's round-by-round results: Express Entry rounds of invitations. Snapshot. 3 November 2026: IRCC's source now runs through 31 August 2026 (file dated 20 October 2026). This version remains a fixed snapshot through 31 July 2026 and has not been updated. IRCC states its data are preliminary and subject to change; for example 2023 British Columbia PNP is 5330 in this snapshot and 5325 in IRCC's current file. Recent months (MAK's inference, not IRCC's statement). Because the count includes a candidate only after they apply, recent figures may still rise in later files. MAK's sum of the same 35 rows for 2026 is 72,345 in this snapshot (through July 31) and 92,705 in IRCC's file with data as of August 31, 2026, a rise of 20,360, while IRCC's rounds dated August 2026 issued 15,811 invitations (MAK's sum of 8 rounds). Reproducible transformation of the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada open dataset "Express Entry-Invited Candidates – Monthly IRCC Updates", organized by intended province or territory and the source field "Invitation Category." The deposit includes the cleaned CSV, the reproducible workbook and the student workbook for MAK's reproducibility lab (Read Me, Student Lab and Source_Data sheets; no instructor solutions). Suppressed values remain suppressed and disclosed values retain IRCC's source rounding; 2026 coverage is year-to-date through 31 July 2026. Licence of source data.
