Investigating hard X-ray transients in the Magellanic Cloud System
收藏资源简介:
The Magellanic Clouds (MCs) harbour a large sample of Be/Xray binaries at amoderate and well known distance with low Galactic foreground absorption. However, their transient nature complicates observations in Xrays. During theeROSITA allsky survey the MCs and the Magellanic Bridge (MB) between them willbe scanned frequently. This provides the unique opportunity to detect highmassXray binaries (HMXBs) during outburst in the full Magellanic System (MS). Wepropose five triggered XMMNewton observations of new or unexplored HMXBs in theMS. Our goal is to study their spectral and temporal properties, to continue thebuildup of large statistical samples of these sources in both clouds and inparticular in the MB, where Be/Xray binaries have already been found. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
