Spatial data, Google Earth Engine scripts, and supplementary database for global mapping of sloping cropland in Mollisols

This repository contains the spatial data, GEE scripts, and supplementary database used to map and quantify the global distribution of sloping cropland in Mollisols (MSC). mollisolshape.zip contains the shapefile derived from the Global Black Soil Distribution Map(GBSmap v1.0) and used to delineate global Mollisol distribution. GEE code.docx contains the Google Earth Engine scripts used to extract the area of Mollisols and MSC and to generate the global MSC map. Supplementary text 1.xlsx contains the supplementary database used for spatial analysis and regional upscaling. Sheet 1 provides country-level Mollisol area and MSC area for the four major Mollisol regions worldwide. Sheet 2 provides maize yields under conventional tillage from published studies, together with official data on maize production input costs and grain prices. Sheet 3 provides annual soil erosion rates under conventional tillage compiled from published studies. Sheet 4 lists the references. The remaining sheets provide provincial- or state-level Mollisol area and MSC area for individual countries.
