Evolution of African small mammals

This study presents the most comprehensive phylogenomics of Crocidura shrews in the Eastern Afromontane Biodiversity Hotspot. Our findings reveal the Ethiopian Highlands as the cradle of the genetic variation of this clade that evolved during the Plio-Pleistocene climatic cycles. This manuscript will interest researchers in African biodiversity, phylogeography, and evolutionary history studies.
