A draft reference genome for the Red-tailed Bumblebee (Bombus lapidarius). HMW DNA was extracted from a single male individual and sequenced on a PacBio Sequel II instrument. The resulting reads were assembled with the hifiasm assembler and screened for contaminants and mitochondrial sequences.
