Survey on expected AI impact on U.S. oil and gas company staff 2023

According to the results of a 2023 survey, the majority of U.S. oil and gas company executives did not expect AI (artificial intelligence) to have an impact on staff numbers. Overall, 78 percent reported they did not predict AI development to result in employee replacement within the next five years. However, this figure differed by sector and firm size. Executives of large exploration and production (E&P) companies had the largest share of respondents foreseeing a future reduction in employees due to AI introduction.
