EVALUATION OF CLINICAL EFFICACY AND COMPLICATION RATES ASSOCIATED WITH STATIN USE IN COPD AND BRONCHIAL ASTHMA

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and bronchial asthma are among the most prevalent chronic respiratory diseases, often accompanied by systemic inflammation and increased cardiovascular risk. Statins, primarily used as lipid-lowering agents, possess pleiotropic effects including anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, and endothelial-protective properties. This study evaluates the clinical efficacy of statin therapy and its impact on complication rates in patients with COPD and bronchial asthma. The analysis demonstrates that statins significantly improve clinical outcomes, reduce systemic inflammation, and may decrease exacerbation frequency; however, potential adverse effects require careful monitoring.
