In support of the Poverty Alleviation Initiative’s mission to prevent, mitigate, and reduce re-entry into poverty, this dataset provides demographic and socioeconomic insights for LA County. The data is intended to inform: Policy advocacy at the local, state, and federal levels Efforts to improve access and experience with County services Community asset mapping to expand and strengthen local support networks Uninsured population for census tracts in LA County from the US Census American Communities Survey (ACS), 2024: https://data.census.gov/table/ACSDP5Y2024.DP02. Percent calculated from civilian noninstitutionalized population. Estimates are based on 2020 census tract boundaries, and tracts are joined to 2021 Supervisorial Districts, Service Planning Areas (SPA), Public Use Microdata Areas (PUMA) and Countywide Statistical Areas (CSA) based on the largest intersecting area.
