"This letter presents a wideband, high-gain, substrate integrated waveguide (SIW)-based circularly polarized (CP) antenna array employing a novel element composed of dual magneto-electric (ME) dipoles. The fundamental radiator is formed by a pair of metal patches placed in a rotationally symmetric configuration inside a SIW cavity, which inherently generates CP radiation. To further extend both the impedance and axial ratio (AR) bandwidths, an additional set of complementary metal patches is rotationally and symmetrically integrated into the same SIW structure. This dual excitation mechanism promotes a more balanced electric field distribution and a stable phase difference between the electric and the magnetic dipoles, resulting in broader operating bandwidths. For initial AR extension and gain enhancement, a 2 \u00d7 2 subarray fed by a SIW-based sequential rotation feeding technique (SRFT) is implemented. Ultimately, a full 4 \u00d7 4 array is designed and fabricated using printed circuit board (PCB) technology to achieve higher gain. Measured results show a \u201310-dB impedance bandwidth of 38.18%, a 3-dB AR bandwidth of 42.42%, and a peak gain of 17.20 dBi. The attractive performance of the proposed antenna array makes it well-suited for wideband millimeter-wave (mmW) wireless communication systems."
