Ancient dental calculus metagenomes from pre-contact Native American Wichita Ancestors

This study is part of the NSF-funded project titled CHOMPER: Calculus and Hominid Oral Metagenomes for Pathogen Evolution Research. The core aims of the CHOMPER project are to study how the genomes of oral bacteria, especially oral pathogens, differ depending on host species, geographic location, dietary lifestyle, and time.
