whole-transcriptome sequencing of retinoblastoma with optic nerve invasion

Tumor tissue samples of six retinoblatoma patients who received enucleation surgery were included in this study. Of these six patients, three patients were pathologically diagnosed with optic nerve invasion, and three patients were diagnosed without optic nerve invasion. None of the patients had received any other treatment, such as radiotherapy or chemotherapy, prior to surgery. Whole-transcriptome sequencing was performed to assess the expression profiles of ncRNAs and mRNAs in RB tissues which invaded the optic nerve and which did not.
