This study focuses on the relationship between depression, gut microbiota and inflammation, and aims to clarify the mechanism by which gut microbiota imbalance further induces neuroinflammation to participate in the occurrence and development of depression, to explore the improvement of dietary lignans on intestinal microecology and depressive state. Linseed is rich in lignans, and its active ingredient is Enterolactone (ENL) , which is metabolized by intestinal flora. It has biological activities such as antioxidant, immune regulation and neurological function. Therefore, elucidating the molecular mechanisms by which dietary lignans and their metabolite ENL inhibit the pathological process of depression will help to reveal new pathogenesis and therapeutic mechanisms of depression, and provide a theoretical basis for the development of new therapeutic strategies for depression, to provide theoretical basis and experimental support for the development of safe, effective and clear mechanism of new therapeutic strategies.
