Planet SuperDove Normalized Difference Vegetation Index Imagery
收藏资源简介:
Abstract This study characterizes Sargassum accumulation, severity, and duration in La Parguera, Puerto Rico, using high spatial resolution Planet SuperDove (PSD) satellite imagery and in situ remote field cameras. The PlanetScope constellation, equipped with Dove and SuperDove sensors, offers a unique balance of high spatial (~3 m) and temporal resolution suitable for nearshore monitoring. Planet SuperDove imagery provides multispectral coverage that enables quantification of Sargassum inundation extent and temporal dynamics for both individual events and seasonal hotspot monitoring. We estimated accumulation area using a Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) approach and classified event magnitude (low, moderate, high) with a percentile-based system.
