This thesis presents a holistic strategy for designing materials for next-generation electrochemical energy storage devices, including electrocatalysts and solid-state batteries. The experimental works presented in this thesis delineates a logical progression in material design to overcome performance limitations by engineering targeted atomic-scale defects to tailor electronic and ionic properties, then scaling these principles to design optimized nanoscale interfaces, and finally integrating them into functional macro-scale architectures.<br><br>The dataset includes all the experimental data (e.g. XPS, XRD, DSC, SEM, FTIR, SAXS, etc., and electrochemical performance of catalysts & batteries) for material characterization and electronic structure analysis.
