The Mummification of General Relativity — A Deep Philosophical Scrutiny of Modern Physics
收藏资源简介:
Why Did the Photon Lose Its License? The Creator commanded: “Let there be light.” Then, the photon was born — but it was never fully understood by those still inhabiting Plato’s cave. It all started smoothly. Democritus and Leucippus, the ancient Greek atomists, had finally been enlightened by logic and understood that the universe ought to have an indivisible minimum: the building blocks of reality. The photon, ecstatic, thought: “There is finally light at the end of the tunnel.” However, humanity’s ungrateful demands made it collapse into an illogical singularity. At the beginning of the 20th century, Albert Einstein led the constitutional overhaul of fundamental physics. In 1905, Special Relativity strictly prohibited anything from moving faster than light in a vacuum. The magic number: 299,792,458 m/s. In 1915, General Relativity deprived the photon of direction, demanding that it always travel straight ahead — it could only bend with curved spacetime. These constitutional principles were entrenched and protected from amendment. Physicists searched for the ether. They found nothing. They called that nothingness “vacuum,” and then declared that nothing was something that could be curved. The photon, in its own way, had nothing to wave through — nevertheless, they named it a wave. If you are as lost as the photon in this story — good. It means that the lack of logic in Modern Physics is blunt: the bruise is visible, but the real injury is internal. The mathematics of the theories screams the ontological physical reality of the photon’s own forbidden frame of reference: uncertainty, as formulated by Heisenberg in 1927, and the Special Relativity indeterminacy “c = 0/0” both point toward a leaping reality. Unfortunately, around that time, physicists elected mathematics as the ontological dictator of physical reality — statistical thermodynamics and quantum mechanics. Physics traded causality for statistical accommodation. The photon, nonetheless, exists outside numbers and letters. Ultimately, it obeys only the constitution of physical reality. For a photon, if proper time Δτ = 0, if proper distance ΔL = 0, and if proper spacetime interval ds² = 0, then from its own forbidden perspective, the photon does not move. It teleports. However, for the poor little massless photon, it is forbidden to jump across galaxies in the same way electrons are allowed to jump across atomic orbitals. Ironically, this would solve “spooky action at a distance.” The photon never received the memorandum precisely defining the maximum length it was allowed to jump. To “Bell’s chosen photon” from a quasar 8 billion light-years away, it was demanded that emission and absorption be the same event from its own perspective: to leave “here” and arrive “there” in no time, completely rested, as though it had never run the 8-billion-light-year marathon. The photon was ready for its Olympic long-jump record when the referee arrived with the regulations — which, oddly, were not the fundamental laws of the universe. The rules stated very clearly that, somewhere foggy between the quantum and cosmological scales, discreteness becomes continuity. The jump was, unfortunately, aborted. The photon was already running late and growing impatient. Reluctant and nervous, its arguments were logically sound: “If I cannot have my own frame of reference because c = 0/0 leads to a mathematical indeterminacy; if velocity is necessarily a correlation between two frames of reference; if I have to cross distance without time — then why must I respect a speed limit? How could I arrive in no time? How can people state that I came from the past? What is the only logical way for me to change position in space instantly without traveling through it? Why the hell can’t I jump?” The referee, busy with his own math homework, could not care less. He just said: “Hey kid, I just work here.” The photon, in a state of panic — a direct consequence of the schizophrenia of Modern Physics’ theoretical framework — sped far above the allowed 299,792,458 m/s limit, reaching infinite speed while trying its best to arrive there in no time. That was definitely not a good day for the photon. The same referee who prohibited its own frame of reference, aborted its jump, demanded that it arrive in no time, and expected it to remain completely chill as though the marathon did not exist in space — also revoked its license for speeding. The photon has refused ever since to explain its side of the story to mainstream science. There are rumors that the photon once furiously confessed in therapy: “The mathematics of the theory forbids it… my ass! My ontology clamours for recognition.” In a leaked direct message, the lichen — his best friend —, shared its own drama: “I am the pioneer — but, somehow, I’m the result of two others ‘first pre-pioneers.’” The photon laughed to keep from crying — then begged to jump in vain. Sadly, its fate will always be to run late. In its essence, it carries the key to the universe’s logic, but physicists would rather romanticize the mystery. It wants to make things straight. It no longer cares for the wave-particle theoretical nonsense. God only knows it is non-binary. It is, and it will always be, just a discrete package of spinning energy — one that wishes, someday, finally, to be accepted for what it is and for what it does: an energy that jumps.
