Results on food additives and flavourings in food and beverages intended for human consumption – Greece
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains the results of food additives and flavourings analysed and/or reported as being added to food and beverages intended for human consumption by the national competent authority in Greece. The results include analytical data and/or use levels for the monitoring programme, as well as data on substances requiring re-evaluation, follow-up, or assessment for new authorisations. Regulation (EC) No 1331/2008 establishes a common procedure for the assessment and authorisation of food additives. Before food additives can be used in the European Union, they must be evaluated for safety by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). According to Regulation (EU) No 257/2010, food additives that were permitted for use in the European Union before 20 January 2009 must be re-evaluated by the EFSA. This regulation also permits the re-evaluation of food additives whenever necessary, in light of changes in conditions of use or new scientific information. Regulations (EC) No 1333/2008 and (EC) No 1334/2008 set out the rules governing the use of food additives and flavourings. The aim is to support the effective functioning of the internal market while ensuring a high level of protection for human health and consumer interests, as well as fair practices in food trade. Where appropriate, they also take environmental protection into account. The regulations provide lists of food additives, flavourings, and source materials that are approved for use in and on foods. They set out the conditions of use for these substances, as well as the labelling rules for food additives and flavourings sold as such. In accordance with Article 27 of Regulation (EC) No 1333/2008 on food additives and Article 20 of Regulation (EC) No 1334/2008 on flavourings, Member States must establish and maintain risk-based systems to monitor the consumption and use of food additives and flavourings, including substances listed in Annex III. Following Commission Recommendation (EU) 2023/965 on the methodology for monitoring food additive and food flavouring intake, Member States should collect occurrence data that allow intake to be calculated. These data may include analytical data, meaning concentrations of food additives and flavourings measured in food; use level data, meaning concentrations reported by business operators as added to food; and presence data, meaning information on whether a specific food additive or flavouring is present or absent in a foodstuff.
