Natural seawater was collected from Oeresund between Denmark and Sweden and filtered at 3 um before being introduced to three host microalgae: Isochrysis galbana, Tetraselmis suecica, and Conticribra weissflogii. Composition of the assembling microbiomes was followed across 49 days, sampled at day 0, 7, 14, 28, and 49. Primers used were 341f/805r for the V3-V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene, and samples were sequenced using Illumina technology.
