Olfactory epithelium transcriptome sequencing of weatherfish

Weatherfish has a well-developed sense of smell due to its benthic living habits, accompanying visual degradation. Studies have shown that weather loach perceives sex pheromone by smell to stimulate courtship behavior. However, the identification of the loach pheromone receptors has not been reported. In this study, by comparative transcriptomic approach, we tried to find the sex differentially expressed olfactory receptors that probably were candidate sex pheromone receptors.
