La lingua serpa

Serpa language is a jargon spoken in Salento mainly by peddlers, jugglers, fabric and cattle sellers and social groups involved in borderline activities. Bibliography layed the fondations to define its relationship in the linguistic context in which it is spoken. The comparison between serpa language and salentinian dialect has allowed to bring to light the connections established on a syntactic, phonetic and lexical level between these two linguistic expressions. The field research has let to outline the social and cultural context of the serpa language; this has led to a diaphasic analysis of the speakers internal dynamics and to the compilation of a glossary.
