There has been an increasing interest in the role of human activities in the distribution and dissemination of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in aquatic ecosystems. However, the influence of lake-based sources on anthropogenic pollutants-ARGs synergistic actions is limited. The objective of this study was to investigate the possible association of aquaculture installations like fish cage nets, with the propagation of anthropogenic pollutants and their consequence influences on the enrichment of ARGs, using a high-throughput metagenomic sequencing approach.
