<b>Additional File 1: PRISMA Checklist</b> This word document is a completed PRISMA checklist that outlines how the implementation of this systematic review conforms with the stipulated guidelines. <b>Additional File 2: Article Search Strategy </b> This file (excel workbook) provides details on how the keywords were applied and the Boolean operators used in combining them during the article search process for each database. <b>Additional File 3: Article Selection Summary</b> This excel workbook provides a summary of the article selection process showing how the inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied when reviewing the title, abstract and full-text of articles obtained from each database search. Also, the number of duplicates and articles resulting from hand searches have been included. <b>Additional File 4: Study Selection Process for each Database</b> Search results exported from each of the six databases are presented from Table 1 to Table 6 (each table on a separate excel sheet of the workbook). The date on which these searches were done together with reviewers’ decisions have been incorporated. <b>Additional File 5: Main Characteristics of Selected Studies</b> The characteristics of the selected studies are presented in Table 1 (studies on methods of contact tracing) and Table 2 (studies on economic costs of contact tracing) on two separate excel sheets of a workbook. <b>Additional File 6: Quality Assessment of Included Studies Grouped by Type of Design.</b> Details of how each quality assessment tool was applied to each study have been provided in Tables 1 to 4 (on four separate excel sheets of a workbook), each table containing studies of the same design. <b>Additional File 7: Risk of Bias Assessment</b> This excel workbook contains the assessment of bias (selection, information and confounding) across the studies included for this review.
