Outstanding household loans in the euro area 2024, by type

As of July 2024, mortgages made up the largest share of loans to households in the Eurozone, with an outstanding amount of over five trillion euros. In contrast, the value of the consumer credit granted to European households amounted to approximately 779 billion euros.
