The aim of the work was to evaluate differences on the functional potential of microbial communities present in the rhizosphere of apple plants grown in apple replant disease affected and non-affected soils. Therefore, green house pot experiments using soils from a long-term field trail located in Ellerhoop, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany were carried out. DNA samples extracted from bulk soil and rhizosphere soils were used for shotgun metagenomic sequencing.
