Eastern Pacific Ocean Dolphinfish Project, 2010-2024

Dolphinfish were tagged off the coasts of Baja California and Oaxaca, Mexico, through a collaboration between the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the Instituto Politécnico Nacional-Centro Interdisciplinario de Ciencias Marinas. Wildlife Computers MiniPAT, mrPAT and microPAT tags (n = 153) and conventional Floy tags (n = 162) were deployed on dolphinfish that were at least 61 cm in fork length between 2010 and 2024 in the months of July, August, September and October off the coast of Baja California and in January, February and March off the coast of Oaxaca. Data published here include information for all electronic tags that reported (n = 109), including: (1) the deployment and recovery dates, times, and locations, (2) the transmitted temperature and depth histograms, daily temperature depth profiles, and temperature and depth time series, and (3) estimated locations using the Wildlife Computers GPE3 model. Data are provided in .csv and proprietary Wildlife Computers formats. Deployment metadata for all tagged individuals (n = 315) is available within the 'Ortega-Garcia_ATN_Dolphinfish_Metadata.csv' file. Electronic tag programming specifications are contained in the 'Ortega-Garcia_ATN_ProgrammingTable.csv' file.
