Latitudinal gradients in phosphorus and vegetation biomass for Sweden and Denmark

These data were combined for a figure depicting strong latitudinal gradients in phosphorus fertilizer and manure application and aboveground vegetation biomass for Sweden and Denmark. An intersection between human and natural gradients can lead to cross-regional contrasts in energy and mass transfer to lakes and explain the presence of thresholds in lake C cycling. Data were averaged within latitudinal bands for the extent of Sweden and Denmark and plotted as splines to emphasize the overall patterns. Data sources are Cheruvelil et al. 2017a, Potter et al. 2010, and Reusch et al. 2008.
